White Wine Turkey Gravy
Featuring sautéed onions and fresh herbs, this gravy will impress any crowd.
3 tablespoons butter
¼ cup chopped yellow onion
3 tablespoons flour
½ cup dry white wine
1½ cups turkey or chicken broth
2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
2 teaspoons chopped fresh sage leaves
salt and pepper, if desired
In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and cook 7 to 9 minutes or until translucent. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Add wine and cook 2 minutes, whisking constantly. Add broth, thyme and sage. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
