2015 Paddlefest Weekend

Welcome to Ohio River Paddlefest Weekend presented by Subaru of Kings Automall!
Here, you will find all of the information you need to help you get ready for what will be the best Paddlefest Weekend experience yet!


Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo, Thursday, June 18, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Join us for the Best of Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo for the 10th anniversary celebration “Passport to Summer Fun” at Coney Island Amusement Park.  The Kids Expo is the largest water safety and outdoor environmental education event in the Midwest that is interactive and fun for children of all ages.  The Kids Expo is a project of the not for profit organization the Green Umbrella and is sponsored by The Carole Ann & Ralph V. Haile, Jr./US Bank Foundation, Interact for Health, The American Heart Association, Great Parks of Hamilton County, RiverWorks Discovery, Children’s Hospital, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife and Watercraft Divisions.

The event is free and open to the public to summer camps, families, day campers, Girl and Boy Scouts/Clubs, summer programs and Coney Island visitors to enjoy the day with us by learning through fun.  Enjoy activities, exhibits, presenters and performers throughout the day in a “village” type setting. The villages are divided into four areas that include Let’s Move, Let’s Explore, Let’s Be Green and Let’s Spalash.  We are so excited to bring to you a lot of new activities to participate in this year that include the Get Fit, Don’t Sit pedometer walking program, fishing on Lake Como, CrossFit Kids, Jump rope for Heart, Yoga, dragonboat rides, raft paddling, climbing wall, Birds of Prey Show, Orienteering program and petting zoo and much more.



Ohio River and Outdoor Music Festival
On Friday, June 19 from 4:00 pm – midnight. Spend your evening with us checking out boat demos on Lake Como, learning how to paddle at paddling clinics, trading up or down on gear at the annual gear swap, visiting exhibitors, catching fish in the 5th annual fishing contest,  listening to great local bands, enjoying great beer and food, taking a chance on a basket raffle, signing up to paddle a the early registration while dropping off your boat on Friday.

Paddle the Ohio and the Gold Star Chili Finish Line Festival
Saturday, June 20, 6:30 am – 1:30 pm
Start your morning off right paddling on the mighty Ohio River with about 1,800 fellow paddlers. This is one trip to cross off your “bucket list” and one you won’t soon forget. Paddle from Coney Island to the Public Landing in downtown Cincinnati. Enjoy floating down river with family and friends, stop for a short break at the Schmidt Field Pit Stop where you can listen to music and nosh on a few samples of deliciousness from a few new Cincinnati hangouts.
Paddlefest registration opens at 6:30 am on  Saturday morning. Races begin at 7:15 am, after all racers have entered the water float paddlers will begin entering the water at 8:15 am with the last boat entering the water by 9:15 am.  The U.S. Coast Guard will close the Ohio River to commercial and power boat traffic as paddlers launch more than 1,400 canoes, kayaks and human powered boats After paddling join the Gold Star Chili Finish Line Festival in full swing for live entertainment by The Part-Time Gentlemen, refreshments and exhibits.
