Kitchen Hint of the Day!

To make your ham less salty, pour a can of Ginger Ale over it, then rub the meaty side with salt at least an hour before baking it. This will cause the salt water in the meat to come to the surface, which will reduce the saltiness of the ham. Discard the mixture, but don't rinse the ham before cooking.
