Kitchen Hint of the Day!

Don’t skimp when kneading bread – it’s what distributes the yeast and other ingredients evenly throughout the dough. If dough isn't kneaded properly, it won’t rise evenly. Electric bread machines, stand mixers, and food processors make short work of this important task, but if you’re kneading dough by hand, rub a small amount of vegetable oil onto your hands before you begin, which will make kneading thick dough easier. A wooden cutting board is your best bet for kneading bread, but other surfaces will work. Just be sure to flour the board adequately.
