Grilled Ham and Turkey Sandwich w/ Baked Shoestring Fries

Dinner Tonight: Grilled Ham and Turkey Sandwich w/ Baked Shoestring Fries

I started the day off by preparing a Breakfast Burrito! To make it Ill need 1 medium size Egg, Jennie - O Turkey Ground Breakfast Sausage, Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Frank's Hot Sauce, sliced Jalapeno Pepper, and Old El Paso Flour Soft Tortilla. Not a bad way to start my day! It was a full house cleaning day, dusted and vacuumed. Sunny and 82 degrees out, and low humidity! Got the cart out for a while. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Grilled Ham and Turkey Sandwich w/ Baked Shoestring Fries.

While at Kroger the other day I loaded up on some Boar's Head Deli items. I bought some Boar's Head Beef Salami, Boar's Head Maple Glazed Honey Coat Cured Turkey Breast, Boar's Head Branded Deluxe Ham, and Boar's Head Smoked Gouda Cheese. So to make my Sandwich I'll be using the Turkey, Ham, and Gouda Cheese. I'll also need; Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise, Boston Bib Lettuce, and Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread.

This will be an easy clean up job because I'll only be using my Flat Top Griddle Pan. I got the Griddle out and sprayed a light coat of Pam Cooking Spray. Preheated it on medium heat. When heated I grabbed some of the Turkey and Ham and laid the pile of Meat on the Griddle. I let it cook for about 4 minutes and flipped it over with the spatula.

After I flipped it,using I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, I buttered 2 slices of the Healthy Life Bread
(buttering just one side of the Bread. I then added 1 slice of the Bread on to the Griddle, buttered side down. After about a minute or so I added the Turkey and Ham on to the Bread. I then added the Gouda Cheese and the other slice of Bread that I spread with the Hellmann's Mayo, buttered side facing up. I then flipped the Sandwich and grilled that side for 3 minutes. And done! Love these Boar's Head Meats and Cheese, always fresh and delicious.

Then to go with the Grilled Sandwich I  baked some Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries. Seasoned them with McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn Medley. Baked them at 425 degrees for 18 minutes. They bake up beautifully and seasoned just right, excellent Shoestring Fries! Plus they are only 120 calories and 15 net carbs. For dessert later a Del Monte No Sugar Added Peach Chunk Cup.

Boar's Head Meats and Cheese

Maple Glazed Honey Coat Cured Turkey Breast

Those who crave sweet will love our Maple Glazed Honey Coat Turkey Breast. This tender, extra lean turkey breast gets its sweet flavor from 100% pure maple syrup and golden honey. Low fat and rich in protein, this turkey is something sweet you can feel good about eating.

Branded Deluxe Ham

Water added.

It all started with Branded Deluxe Ham. Slow cooked for a tender taste, this was our very first product and continues to be a favorite today.

Smoked Gouda, Pasteurized Process Gouda and Cheddar Cheese

A unique blend of buttery Gouda and mild cheddar that is naturally smoked with hickory and hardwoods, for a cheese with subtle smoky notes and a rich, creamy flavor. Smoked Gouda lends depth to ordinary burgers and pairs with Boar’s Head Bacon to make a truly spectacular mashed potato side dish.

BBQ Chicken Pizza Night

Dinner Tonight: BBQ Chicken Pizza!

It was BBQ Chicken Pizza for dinner tonight! This is one delicious Pizza. The Chicken, Gouda Cheese, 2% Mozzarella Cheese, Pita Bread and J B‘s Fat Boy Sticky Stuff Sauce makes an incredible Pizza and then add in the Mushrooms, Pineapple Bits, and Black Olives, Too good! A note about the Gouda Cheese, I love this cheese! It melts perfectly. If you like ooey, gooey cheese you have to try this one. For the Chicken I used a Kroger Rotissiarie Chicken. I pulled all the meat and shredded it. I seasoned it with Sea Salt and Ground Black Pepper. I also used Wheat Pita Breads from Meijer Bakery.Easy to fix and done in minutes from the oven. A lot healthier than frozen or Delivery Pizza also. I left the recipe below.

BBQ Chicken Pizza

1 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Rotissiaire Chicken or 2 baked Boneless Chicken Breasts
1 Cup Barbecue Sauce (recommended: J B’s Fat Boy Sticky Stuff BBQ Sauce)
2 Wheat or Whole Wheat Pita Bread
4 Medium Baby Bella Mushrooms, sliced thin
2 tablespoons of Pineapple Bits, I used Dole pineapple Bits

Grilled A&W Root Beer BBQ Sauce Marinated Chicken Breasts w/ Smothered Hash Browns,...

Today's Menu: Grilled A&W Root Beer BBQ Sauce and Crushed Pineapple Marinated Chicken Breasts w/ Smothered Hash Browns, Grilled Asparagus, and Crescent Rolls

Sunny and 60 degrees out! Cleaned up the grill and fired it up to grill some A&W Root Beer BBQ Sauce and Crushed Pineapple Marinated Chicken Breasts! Love grilling and Chicken tastes even better when you grill it. I used Miller Amish Boneless Chicken Breasts and Marinated them in A&W Root Beer BBQ Sauce and Dole Crushed Pineapple and refrigerated them for about 3 hours. It was the first time I had ever used the A&W Sauce. It was a sweet sauce with a hint of Root Beer, a very good and tasty sauce! I grilled them about 22 minutes flipping them twice. They came out moist and delicious. The sauce really provides a great flavor and with the added Crushed Pineapple they were too good.

For sides I had Grilled Asparagus, Smothered Hash Browns and Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls. The asparagus was Meijer Brand frozen Grilled Asparagus which I always keep a supply of on hand. I used Simply Potatoes Hash Browns that I seasoned with Sea Salt and Ground Black Pepper. I pan fried them in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and topped them with fresh grated Dutch Smoked Gouda Cheese, one of my favorite cheese! Plus I baked a can of Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls. I actually forgot I had them and found them buried in the back of the fridge and they I about a week before expiration so I wanted to use them before that. For dessert later a Slice of Pillsbury Nut Quick Bread. I made this earlier to day adding extra Almond Pieces, Pecan Pieces and Walnut Pieces. Topped it with a scoop of Breyer's Carb Smart Vanilla Ice Cream.

A&W Root Beer BBQ Sauce
Enjoy the smooth, creamy flavor of AW root beer on the grill. The taste of AW will add an unexpected, layered richness to your BBQ. Whether basting, marinating or dipping, you'll savor every bite.

Whole Grain Penne Pasta and Turkey Sausage

Dinner Tonight:  Whole Grain Penne Pasta and Turkey Sausage w/ Mushrooms, Low Carb Pasta Sauce, and Whole Grain Bread

Pasta tonight! I had Whole Grain Penne Pasta and Turkey Sausage. I used Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Grain Penne Rigate Pasta, a healthy pasta choice at 180 calories and 41 carbs. For the sauce I used Bella Vita Low Carb Pasta Sauce and that being only 70 calories and 6 carbs! I love this sauce it has great flavor and good on any pasta. So you get the full flavor of pasta sauce but not the calories or carbs. Then for the Turkey Sausage I tried a new one, Johnsonville Turkey Sausage. The sausage is 110 calories and 0 carbs.

I precooked and sliced the Turkey Sausage earlier. I boiled the pasta and while it was boiling I heated the pasta sauce and added the sliced Turkey Sausage. After boiling and draining the pasta I added the pasta back to pot and added the sauce and sausage to it and mixed until the pasta was well coated. Seasoned the Pasta with McCormick Grinder Italian Seasoning. I also added some sliced Baby Bella Mushrooms and topped with fresh grates Dutch Smoked Gouda. Served the pasta with Healthy Choice Whole Grain Bread. For dessert/snack later some Ruffles Light Potato Chips with a side of Simply Kraft Sour Cream Ranch Dip.

Marinated Steak Tacos and Refried Beans

Dinner Tonight: Marinated Steak Tacos and Refried Beans

It was Tacos tonight at dinner! I used a Flat Iron Steak that I marinated for 4 hours in J B's Fat Boy Chipotle BBQ Sauce. After marinating I seasoned it a little bit more with Old El Paso Medium Taco Seasoning, McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn. Then I lightly fried it on medium low heat in Extra Virgin Olive Oil for about 12 minutes, turning once. Came out a juicy Medium Rare. I then thinly sliced the whole Steak, plenty of leftovers! I'll be using the leftovers for more tacos or for a salad for lunch tomorrow. I used Old El Paso Stand & Stuff Whole Grain Corn Taco Shells. I topped it them with 2 tablespoons of Kroger Brand Organic Black Bean & Corn Salsa, freshly grated Dutch Smoked Gouda Cheese, sliced Black Olives, and shredded Lettuce. The hardest part of the meal was putting together the Taco. It seemed for every slice of Steak we would add to the Taco we would eat two slices. The Steak was delicious! The Chipotle BBQ Sauce gives it a tremendous flavor! I also had a side of Old El Paso Refried Beans. For dessert later a bowl of Breyer's Carb Smart Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Del Monte No Sugar Added Sliced Peaches.

Turkey Burger w/ Sauteed Mushrooms and Hardwood Smoked Gouda Cheese

Dinner Tonight: Turkey Burger w/ Sauteed Mushrooms and Hardwood Smoked Gouda Cheese

I had a Jennie – O Turkey Burger that I topped with Sauteed Mushrooms and a slice of Hardwood Smoked Gouda Cheese. Seasoned the Burger with McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Grinder Black Peppercorn. Gouda is bit higher in calories than my 2% Cheese I normally have but it’s worth it from time to time. Gouda is a great Cheese for any type of burger or sandwich. Rich and creamy and melts just right on the burgers. I seasoned the Mushrooms with Smoked Cumin, Sea Salt, Ground Pepper, and Ground Thyme. I had the burger on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Bun. Served it with Ore Ida Steak Fries that I baked. For dessert later a Yoplait Delight Chocolate Eclair Parfait.
