Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

For Breakfast this morning I poached an Egg and served it on a toasted Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin. I also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Big change in the weather out there. 24 degrees, snow flurries, and windy, which makes it feel a lot colder out there! Had a high of 40 degrees but it sure felt colder. Had a good nights sleep last night, no Phantom Pains! Did some house cleaning and that was about it. For Dinner tonight it’s Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies). Comfort Food tonight!

Been a while since I've prepared Sausage and Beans. So tonight it’s Beans and Weenies, but I kicked this version up a bit. I used 1 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (sliced into thin bite size pieces), 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon (Fried and Crumbled), 1 can of Bush’s White Chili Beans, 1 can Bush’s Vegetarian Reduced Sodium Baked Beans, 1/4 cup of Red Onion (Chopped), 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon Ground Mustard, 1 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar, Liquid Smoke (Optional and to taste), a couple of shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and 2 cups of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce (or to taste).

I used a small size Dutch Oven that I had sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray. Added all the ingredients
except for the Turkey Smoked Sausage to the Dutch Oven, and stirred until well mixed. I turned the stove on medium low, covered the pot and just let it simmer. Another set it and forget recipe! After I got the Beans started I fried up 1 1/2 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausages. I first sliced them up into bite size pieces then fried them on medium until they started to brown and removed them from the heat and put them in a small bowl and set aside.

Then using the same skillet I fried the Sausage in I fried 3 slices of Applegate No Sugar Added Uncured Bacon, actually I fried 5 slices.  Always remember when preparing Bacon to always add 2 extra slices. Because you know you’ll grab a couple of slices, it’s called the Bacon Factor or Bacon Math. First time I've tried the Applegate Bacon. I normaly use Turkey or Chicken Bacon but this looked like an excellent Bacon. It fried up perfect and very good flavor to it. Plus it's only 60 calories for 2 slices. As I said it fried up nice and crisp and when done crumbled it up into small pieces and added it to the Beans. Sausage, Bacon, and Beans are such a natural combo, Bacon gives it that wonderful smoky flavor.

I love dishes that you can set and let them simmer, to me it seems to give food a much richer and deeper flavor. After a couple of hours I added the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausages to
the Beans. Kept the heat on low until it was time for dinner. A good Hearty Meal tonight. You have the smokiness of the Bacon and Liquid Smoke, the Sweetness and Tang of the BBQ Sauce, the Spices, along with the Smoked Turkey Sausage and Beans. I just love all the flavors, a real comfort food favorite! Another plus is the cleanup, just one dutch Oven and 1 skillet to clean. Also reheated the leftover Bakehouse Multigrain Bread. For Dessert later a So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream Sandwich.

Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

For Breakfast this morning I had a another of the delicious SayersBrook Bison Ranch Filet Mignon! I love these they're so tender and fry up so easy. So I had Steak and Egg. I had Bison Filet Mignon in
the freezer, I laid it in the fridge overnight to thaw. I fried it like last time. I just seasoned it with some McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Peppercorn Medley. I then grabbed a small skillet, sprayed it with Pam Cooking Spray, and added a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Light Olive Oil. Heated it on medium heat. Fried the first side 3 minutes and flipped it over and cooked it another 2 minutes. And like last time it came out a perfect medium rare! It was so tender and juicy. Then I also fried up a Sunny Side Egg and toasted a couple of slices of Aunt Millie's Light Whole Grain Bread. Sure tough to beat a Steak and Egg Breakfast Combo! Also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea.

We had snow showers on and off all night, none of it stuck to the ground though. Another cool day out, a high of 33 degrees and sunny out. After I had Breakfast I prepared Breakfast for Mom and Dad. I prepared Scrambled Eggs, sausage Patties, Buttery Grits, Toast, and made a pot of Coffee. Gave Mom a hand with a couple of loads of laundry. Then cleaned the house, dusted and vacuumed. For Dinner tonight it’s Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies). Comfort Food tonight!

I’ve been wanting some more of the Sausage and Beans for a while now. So tonight it’s Beans and Weenies, but I kicked this version up a bit. I used 1 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage
(sliced into thin bite size pieces), 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon (Fried and Crumbled), 1 can of Bush’s White Chili Beans, 1 can Bush’s Vegetarian Reduced Sodium Baked Beans, 1/4 cup of Red Onion (Chopped), 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon Ground Mustard, 1 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar, Liquid Smoke (Optional and to taste), a couple of shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and 2 cups of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce (or to taste).

Then using the same skillet I fried the Sausage in I fried 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon, actually I fried 5 slices actually. Always remember when preparing Bacon to always add 2 extra slices. Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

For Breakfast I toasted a couple of slices of Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread that I lightly buttered
with I Can't Believe Its Not Butter. Then I fried up a couple of Jennie - O Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links and prepared the morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After Breakfast i went up the road to the local Kroger to pick up a few items for Mom and myself. Back home, put everything away and went over to Rehab to see Dad, I was lucky to find this place, they are so nice and Dad is real happy with it! So Monday starts the therapy and building his strength back up. Back home I did some laundry and some light cleaning. For Dinner tonight it’s Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies). Comfort Food!

I've been wanting the Sausage and Beans for a while now. So tonight it’s Beans and Weenies, but I

Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

The hot and humid weather has settled back in for at least the next 5-6 days, and it is very humid out there this morning. After Breakfast I went to Kroger, I was all out of Apples. The Honey Crisp Apples are back in stock! The first batch they are getting in are huge and taste fantastic! Love it when they are in season. Late afternoon I had to go back to the optometrist for one last check for Glaucoma. Glad that's over! For dinner tonight frozen leftovers. I reheated Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies).

I had made this about 4 days ago and froze the leftovers. And while checking the freezer out for something to prepare for dinner I thought why not the Beans and Sausage again. I love this dish; easy to prepare and nothing but good! So I sat it in the fridge overnight to thaw. Then at dinnertime added the Beans and Sausage to a small sauce pan and reheated on low until heated through. The dish freezes and reheats perfect. Excellent Dish! Also baked a loaf of Pillsbury Rustic French Bread to go with it. I reposted the original post from the other day below which has the recipe.

While growing up who didn’t like the old-fashioned Campbell’s Beans and Weenies! So tonight it’s
Beans and Weenies, but I kicked this version up a bit. I used 1 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (sliced into thin bite size pieces), 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon, 1 can of Bush’s Cannellini Beans, 1 can Joan of Arc Spicy Chili Beans, 1/4 cup of Red Onion (Chopped), 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon Ground Mustard, 1 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar, Liquid Smoke (Optional and to taste), a couple of shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and 2 cups of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce (or to taste).

Plus it’s another one of those delicious one pot meals. I used a small size Dutch Oven that I had
sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray. Added all the ingredients except for the Turkey Smoked Sausage to the Dutch Oven, and stirred until well mixed. I turned the stove on medium low, covered the pot and just let simmer. Another set it and forget recipe! After I got the Beans started I fried up 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon, actually I fried 5 slices. Always remember when preparing Bacon to always add 2 extra slices. Bacon and beans are such a natural combo, Bacon gives it that wonderful smoky flavor.

You could make this in a crock pot on low and let it go all day or by using a medium size sauce pan
and get done even quicker. I love dishes that you can set low and let them simmer. After a couple of hours I sliced up one of the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausages and added it to the Beans. I then increased the heat to medium for about another 1/2 hour and then reduced it back down to medium low until it was time for dinner. A good Hearty Meal tonight. You have the smokiness of the Bacon and Liquid Smoke, the Sweetness and Tang of the BBQ Sauce, the Spices, along with the Smoked Turkey Sausage and Beans. I just love all the flavors, a real comfort food favorite of mine! Another plus is the cleanup, just one dutch Oven to clean. I also baked a loaf of Pillsbury Rustic French Bread. Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

After Breakfast and my morning workout I got a few things done around the house and then off to
Kroger. And good news, the Honey Crisp Apples are back in stock! Just love those Apples! Back home was on the phone with Hoveround Mobility Chairs for over an hour!! Trying to cut through all the red tape to get my Hoveround Chair repaired. Because of the Obama Care what used to take a few minutes to get work scheduled now takes up to 3 weeks or more, just not right what they've done to Health Care. Anyway for dinner tonight I prepared Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies).

Leftovers Tonight - Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Leftovers - Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Well we're paying for the mild Winter now! It's about 10 degrees with a windchill of 0. Down right freezing out there! Snow moving in tonight, they are still not sure how much though. Last I heard was 3"-5". Then an Artic Cold Wave moving in, below zero Thursday morning. All you can do is grin, bear it, and make the best of it! It's another Leftover Dinner Tonight for me. For dinner tonight Leftover Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies).

Tomorrow morning is garbage morning, so our fridge is purged of all leftovers. The Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage was so good from last Night's Dinner I couldn't let them go to waste. So I heated them back up along with a slice of Buttered Klosterman Wheat Bread. Below is the original post along with the full prep and recipe. Stay warm!

So it’s Beans and Weenies but I kicked  it up a bit. I used 1 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (sliced into thin bite size pieces), 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon, 1 can of Joan of Arc Spicy Chili Beans, 1 can of Bush’s Reduced Sodium Black Beans (drained and rinsed), 1/4 of a medium-sized White Onion (Chopped), 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 1 tablespoon Ground Mustard, 1/2 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar, Liquid Smoke (Optional and to taste), a couple of shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and a 1 cup of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce (or to taste).

Another one of those delicious one pot meals. I used a small size Dutch Oven that I had sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray. Added all the ingredients except for the Turkey Smoked Sausage to the Dutch Oven, and stirred until well mixed. I turned the stove on medium low, covered the pot and just let simmer. I fried it up nice and crisp and when done crumbled it up into small pieces and added it to the Beans. You could make this in a crock pot on low and let it go all day or by using a medium size sauce pan and get done even quicker. You have the smokieness of the Bacon and Liquid Smoke, the Sweetness and Tang of the BBQ Sauce, the Spices, along with the Smoked Turkey Sausage and Beans. I just love all the flavors, a real comfort food favorite of mine! I also had a slice of Buttered Klosterman Wheat Bread. For dessert later Del Monte No Sugar Added Peach Chunk Cup.

Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

First week of the New Year and it was 51 degrees this morning when I ventured out to get the morning papers! But that's going to ending real quick, as they're saying by Wednesday it will be zero or below to start the day with a high of 10 degrees, got to love this Ohio Weather! Forgot a couple of items when at Kroger yesterday so this morning I went back to pick them up. Back home for the day watching the Football Playoffs. For dinner tonight a favorite Comfort Food of mine, Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies).

While growing up who didn’t like the old-fashioned Campbell’s Beans and Weenies!

Another set it and forget recipe! After I got the Beans started I fried up 3 slices of Jennie – O Turkey Bacon. I fried it up nice and crisp and when done crumbled it up into small pieces and added it to the Beans. You could make this in a crock pot on low and let it go all day or by using a medium size sauce pan and get done even quicker.

Brrr, it was downright cold this morning! About 3:00 this morning I had to get up and turn the heat up. It was in the 30's. it looks as though it's going to be another Chilly and Rainy Night for all the Trick or Treaters around here. The last 3 Halloweens have been this way. Possible snow flurries coming Saturday morning, our first sign of snow of this season. Spent the day cleaning the spare room back where my computer is at, much needed cleaning! Well to counter the cool day I made a pot of Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies).

Growing up who didn’t like the old-fashioned Campbell’s Beans and Weenies! I hadn't made it in a while and sounded perfect for dinner tonight. So it's Beans and Weenies but I jazzed it up a bit. I used 1 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (sliced into bite size pieces), 3 slices of Jennie - O Turkey Bacon, 1 can of Joan of Arc Spicy Chili Beans, 1 can of Bush’s Reduced Sodium Black Beans (drained and rinsed), 1/4 of a medium-sized White Onion (Chopped), 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 1 tablespoon Ground Mustard, 1 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar, Liquid Smoke (Optional and to taste), a couple of shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and a 1 cup of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce (or to taste).

Another one of those delicious and easily prepared meals. I used a small size Dutch Oven that I had sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray. Added all the ingredients except for the Turkey Smoked Sausage to the Dutch Oven, and stirred until well mixed. I turned the stove on medium low, covered the pot and just let simmer. Another set it and forget recipe! After I got the Beans started I fried up 3 slices of Jennie - O Turkey Bacon. I just love all the flavors, a real comfort food! For dessert/snack tonight I heated up some Hormel Snackers Chili and Cheese Dip along with some Tostios Multi Grain Scoops. Love the Dip, a good way to end the day!

Leftovers - Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Leftovers - Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Weather wise more of the same, hot, hazy, and humid. When it's like this i don't have much on an appetite. Which leads to today, nothing sounded good. Mondays are the day if you have any leftovers in the fridge, it's either use it or lose it! Garbage goes out in the morning so we usually clean the fridge of any leftovers. So for my dinner tonight it was Leftover Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies).

I had a nice size helping of the  Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage leftover and it was too good to go to waste so I heated that up for my dinner tonight. In case you missed it here's how it's prepared. I used 1 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (sliced into bite size pieces), a handful of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Bits, 1 can of Joan of Arc Spicy Chili Beans, 1 can of Bush’s Reduced Sodium Black Beans (drained and rinsed), 1/4 of a medium-sized Red Onion (Chopped), 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 1 tablespoon Ground Mustard, 1 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar, a couple of shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and a 3/4 cup of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce (or to taste).

To prepare everything, it can’t be much easier. You could make this in a crock pot on low and let it go all day or by using a medium size sauce pan and get done even quicker. I love dishes that you can set low and let them simmer. After a couple of hours I sliced up one of the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage and added it to the Beans. I then increased the heat to medium for about another hour and then reduced it back down to medium low until it was time for dinner. So to reheat this I just put into a small sauce pan and set it on medium low until it was heated through. I also had a slice of Klosterman Wheat Bread. Then for dessert later a Weight Watchers  Vanilla Bean & Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich.

Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies) w/ Cheddar Corn Bread Muffins

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies) w/ Cheddar Corn Bread Muffins

Downright miserable out again, hot and humid. Late afternoon/evening is our community Picnic and Swim Party, a bit too humid for me to go though. For dinner tonight a classic, (Beans and Weenies) Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage w/ Cheddar Corn Bread Muffins.

Growing up I always loved those little cans of of Campbell’s Beans and Weenies, that and Spaghetti-O’s! Well I wanted some Beans and Weenies but I jazzed it up a bit.

I used a small size Dutch Oven that I had sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray. Added all the ingredients except for the Turkey Smoked Sausage to the Dutch Oven, and stirred until well mixed. I turned the stove on medium low, covered the pot and just let simmer. I then increased the heat to medium for about another hour and then reduced it back down to medium low until it was time for dinner.

Then to go with my "Beans and Weenies" I baked some Cheddar Corn Bread Muffins. First time I made these and they are delicious! The recipe comes from the Taste of Home web site. I lightened the recipe up by using 2% Milk, Sargento reduced Fat Shredded Cheddar Cheese, and Fat Free Greek Yogurt. The original recipe also had it as a bread that you cut into squares but I baked as Muffins instead. Fantastic side to the "Beans and Weenies"! I left the full recipe along with a link to the original recipe at the end of the post. A good Hearty Meal tonight. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Mousse.

Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

Dinner Tonight: Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage (Beans and Weenies)

A really cool day out today. A friend of mine is in town from Phoenix and we met for lunch. He was wearing a jacket and was freezing, he's not used to this weather! The breeze is what's making it so chilly, a really cold wind. Yesterday I had went to Meijer, who has the best selection of Jennie - O Turkey Products. I had picked up a package of Jennie - O Turkey Sausage Links. I made some for Breakfast and noticed the package was different and it had "Lean" on the package. I looked at the Nutrition on back and for 2 Turkey Links it was only 65 calories! I'll have to buy the "Lean" from now on can't beat that, the normal I believe was at 90 calories for 2. For dinner tonight a classic, (Beans and Weenies) Beans and Smoked Turkey Sausage.

Growing up who didn’t like the old-fashioned Campbell’s Beans and Weenies, that and Spaghetti-O’s! Well I wanted some Beans and Weenies but I jazzed it up a bit. I then increased the heat to medium for about another hour and then reduced it back down to medium low until it was time for dinner. A good Hearty Meal tonight. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Yogurt.
