Toasted a couple of Eggo Nutri Grain Waffles and had a cup Bigelow Decaf Tea for Breakfast this morning. Lot of rain overnight into the morning. Then partly sunny and 60 degrees out. Rested most of the day, dealing with a painful sinus headache. They say our pollen count outside is extremely high and my head can feel it! Like most plans, they are made to be broken. I was going to prepare Dinner tonight Mom wanted Pizza so…….

........Pizza it is! I ordered Mom’s favorite, Domino’s Hand Tossed Pizza Large with Cheese, Sauce, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, and Black Olives, Green Olives. First Pizza in a while, and it was over due! As always the Pizza arrived on time, hot and delicious! I had a Diet Coke to drink. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Caffeine Free Diet Mango Tea Snapple to drink. The Kitchen reopens tomorrow! Take care all.

Dinner Tonight: Kitchen Closed – It’s Pizza Tonight from Domino’s

For Breakfast on this morning I made some Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns, Heated up some Meijer Diced Ham, fried an Egg Sunnyside Up, made a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. I
made a bed of the Hash Browns in a bow and sprinkled some Sargento Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Next I put the Diced Ham over top the Hash Browns then put the Sunnyside Up Egg on to top it off. Did a load of laundry after Breakfast. Then later I went to Walmart for printing ink for my printer and a couple of other items. Back home I got caught up a couple of shows I had recorded. For Dinner tonight Mom wanted Pizza so.......

Lunch Meat of the Week - Pepperoni

Packaged pepperoni

Pepperoni is an American variety of salami, made from cured pork and beef mixed together and seasoned with paprika or other chili pepper.

Pepperoni is characteristically soft, slightly smoky, and bright red in color. Thinly sliced pepperoni is a popular pizza topping in American-style pizzerias and is used as filling in the West Virginia pepperoni roll.

The term "pepperoni" is a borrowing of peperoni, the plural of peperone, the Italian word for bell pepper. The first use of "pepperoni" to refer to a sausage dates to 1919. In Italian, the word peperoncino (diminutive of peperone) refers to hot and spicy peppers.

Pepperoni is a cured dry sausage similar to the spicy salamis of southern Italy, such as salsiccia
Pepperoni atop a pizza
Napoletana piccante, a spicy dry sausage from Naples, or the soppressata from Calabria. The main differences are that pepperoni has a finer grain (akin to salami of Milan, a spiceless regional variant of salami), is usually softer, and is produced with the use of an artificial casing (instead Italian salami are produced using natural gut for casing and are made of pure pork). Pepperoni is mass-produced to meet the demand for the sausage. In most of Italy pepperoni would be considered a type of salamino piccante.

Pepperoni is usually made from a mixture of pork and beef. Turkey meat is also commonly used as a substitute, but the use of poultry in pepperoni must be appropriately labeled in the United States.

Curing, with nitrates or nitrites (usually used in modern curing agents, to protect against botulism and other forms of microbiological decay) also contributes to pepperoni's reddish color, by reacting with heme in the myoglobin of the proteinaceous components of the meat.

According to Convenience Store Decisions, Americans annually consume 251.7 million pounds of pepperoni on 36% of all pizzas produced nationally. Pepperoni has a tendency to curl up from the edges in the heat of a pizza oven. Some pepperoni is produced in thicker slices, so that the edges curl intentionally.

Pepperoni can also be found accompanying different types of cheeses as a cheap snack food in convenience stores or gas stations.

In Nova Scotia, deep - fried pepperoni served on its own (usually with a honey mustard dipping sauce) is common pub food.

Kitchen Closed, Domino Pizza!

Hello all! My Mom is still not feeling well. I'm taking her to her Family Doctor tomorrow, and
believe me it's not been easy! She does not like going to the Doctor and I finally talked her into going. She actually feels worse today than yesterday.

I had to go pick up a prescription that her Doctor called in for her. I was going to prepare Dinner tonight but she insisted she wanted a Pizza. So as usual I gave in and ordered a Pizza from Domino. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer pictures I take on to the computer and then to my posts again! I had a friend of mine that works for a Computer Repair store come over and help me get it up running again. Still not sure on this Windows 10 thing, but not much choice now. Anyway I ordered a Domino Hand Tossed Medium Pizza with Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushroom, Black Olives, and Green Olives. Kitchen will reopen tomorrow!

Kitchen Closed, Pizza Hut tonight!

Dinner Tonight: Kitchen Closed, Pizza Hut tonight!

To start my morning off I just had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Restless night, still sore from the fall I had. Still raining out. We've had about 3" inches or more with the heavy rains moving in this morning. Lot of local flooding here in the area. Good chance of more rain coming in tomorrow. So not a lot going on, had everything done. So I kicked back and watched Football all day!

I was ready to prepare Dinner tonight but Mom wanted Pizza. And we all know, "What Mom wants Mom gets". We normally order from Domino's but she wanted Pizza Hut tonight. I ordered a medium Pizza. First one I've had in a very, very long time! I must admit, it was great! Plenty of toppings with Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Black Olives, Italian Sausage, Green Olives. The Pizza arrived on time and steaming hot! As I said plenty of toppings, sauce was great and cheese, well I love all cheese! Back to healthier eating tomorrow as the Kitchen reopens! For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop - Pop Corn along with a Peach Diet Snapple to drink. Take care all!

Dinner Tonight: DIGIORNO Original Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza

For Breakfast this morning I toasted a Thomas 100 Calorie Light Multi Grain English Muffin and made a Breakfast Sandwich. I also lightly fried an al fresco Country Style Chicken Sausage Breakfast Patty, and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. I had to be at my Family Doctor at 9:00 this morning to have this spot on my leg checked out. The place turned out to be nothing too serious. I had a small scratch and it has a bit of infection. They have me on a prescription for a 10 days and it should clear up. Sure glad it was nothing!! For Dinner tonight a Digiorgio  Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza.

To start my morning off I prepared a Poached Egg and served it on a toasted Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin. I also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. What a day outside today, 80

Back home did a few things around the house and outside. Then at 2:00 I had to take Mom to an eye appointment. It took a while, she has to schedule a Cataract Removal. The Family Doc called and said all my test results came back great! Diabetes 2 numbers looked good along with the Cholesterol and the rest. Back home too much running around today so the Kitchen is Closed! Tonight its Domino’s Pizza!

Hasselback Pizza Bread
The Hasselback techinique—making crosswise cuts in a vegetable, fruit or in this case, a baguette, to create space for adding in additional flavors like cheese—turns whole-grain bread into a fast and easy pizza in this fun recipe. We like classic pepperoni and basil, but feel free to squeeze in your favorite toppings.......

Roasted Buffalo Chickpeas
Soaking chickpeas in vinegary hot sauce gives them a mouthwatering tang before they crisp up in the oven. The result? An addictively crunchy snack that's actually good for you......

Edamame with Aleppo Pepper

The Kitchen is closed!........LaRosa's MEAT DELUXE Pizza

Dinner Tonight: The Kitchen is closed!........LaRosa's MEAT DELUXE Pizza

For Breakfast this morning I tries a new Bacon I cam across at Meijer yesterday, al fresco Uncured Chicken Bacon. It fried up good and was crispy after frying. It had good taste, I'll have this more often! So for Breakfast I
had the Chicken Bacon, 1 Egg Sunnyside Up, 2 toasted slices of Aunt Millie's Light Whole Grain Bread (lightly buttered), and that morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Another morning of below zero temperatures, minus 2 degrees. Mostly cloudy and 18 degrees for a high. It was good to get out for a while yesterday. I had a case of cabin fever! I'll be glad when this weather breaks and we have days with sunshine and above freezing temperatures! So anyway I cleaned the, vacuum and dusted. Then later a load of laundry. For Dinner tonight I shut down the Kitchen and ordered a Pizza. Tonight it's a LaRosa's MEAT DELUXE Pizza.

It has been a very long time since I've had a Pizza from LaRosa's Pizzeria! My Cousin's son was selling LaRosa's Gift Cards to earn money for their Football Team so I bought 1 for Mom and 1 for my neighbor next door. Mom and Dad wanted a Pizza so we're using her LaRosa's Gift Card. We ordered a LaRosa's MEAT DELUXE Pizza.

We ordered a large Pizza. It comes with toppings of LaRosa's Family Recipe Pizza Sauce and Provolone, topped with lots of Pepperoni, Sausage, Ground Beef, Capocolla Ham, and Bacon. We added Mushrooms and Olives to it also. The Pizza arrived right on time and piping hot! I forgot just how good the Pizza is at LaRosa's. The Crust, LaRosa's Sauce, and all the toppings make for one delicious Pizza and Meal! We really enjoyed this! More calories and carbs than I'm used to having but worth it. I make my Pizza, Lasagna, and Spaghetti Sauce all using the LaRosa's Sauce. For Dessert later a Dole No Sugar Added Peach Chunk Cup. Well the Kitchen will reopen tomorrow, later!

A little LaRosa's History......

LaRosa's Pizzeria

LaRosa's Pizzeria is a chain of pizzerias serving neighborhoods in Cincinnati, Greater Dayton, Central Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and central Tennessee. It was founded in 1954 by Donald "Buddy" LaRosa, along with partners Richard "Muzzie" Minella, Mike Soldano and Frank "Head" Serraino. Originally called Papa Gino's, LaRosa later bought out his partners, and changed the name to LaRosa's.

In addition to serving guests in its pizzerias, LaRosa's is also the exclusive pizza served at the Kings Island and Coney Island amusement parks, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, Riverbend Music Center, Perfect North Slopes and the Great American Ball Park (home of the Cincinnati Reds).

Beginning with just one location on Boudinot Avenue in the Westwood area of Cincinnati, the family and franchise owners now operate more than 60 pizzerias, with total annual sales of over $130 million.

In 1991, LaRosa's invested heavily in the implementation and marketing of a single number call distribution center for delivery and carry out orders. Its phone number is prominently featured in advertising. LaRosa's is very popular in Greater Cincinnati, exceeding Domino's, Donatos PizzaPizza Hut and Papa John's in consumer reported purchase frequency.

LaRosa's has always been active in the neighborhoods it serves, sponsoring local youth sports programs. On February 27, 2008, Michael Larosa became CEO of LaRosa's, Inc., succeeding T.D. Hughes (CEO, LaRosa's 1990-2007).

LaRosa's signature pizza is a thin crust variety made with a distinctive thick, sweet sauce (a family recipe created by Buddy's Aunt Dena) and topped with provolone cheese. Their menu also includes subs or "hoagys" with a variety of fillings and condiments, as well as calzones, salads, and pastas. LaRosa's also offers its pasta sauce and other selections from its menu at

Diner Tonight: It's Pizza Tonight from Domino's

For Breakfast this morning I fried a couple of Jennie - O Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links, Scrambled
an Egg, toasted 2 slices of Aunt Millie's Light Whole Grain Bread, and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After I had Breakfast and did the dishes I went to McDonald's to pick up Breakfast for Mom and Dad. It's not quite as hot out, 82 degrees but still a tad muggy. After Lunch I got the cart out of the shed and I to dig up an old bush that was dead and then I had to dig out some soil running along side the driveway. Still having drainage problems when it rains. Things would be a lot easier if I wasn't in a wheel chair but you have to work with what you got! For Dinner tonight It's Pizza from Domino's.

I had something planned out for my Dinner tonight but Mom and Dad had been wanting a Pizza for

One of America's Favorites - New York-Style Pizza

New York-Style Pizza

New York-style pizza is a style of pizza characterized by large hand-tossed thin-crust pies, often sold in wide slices to go. It has a crust which is crisp along its edge yet soft and pliable enough beneath its toppings to be folded in half to eat. This style evolved in the U.S. from a type that originated in New York City in the early 1900s, and today refers to the style of pizza eaten in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This style of pizza is similar to the original Italian version. Regional variations exist throughout the Northeast and elsewhere in the U.S.

The first pizzeria in the United States of America was founded by Gennaro Lombardi in New York
Slices of pepperoni New York-style pizza
City's Little Italy in 1905. An immigrant pizzaiolo from Naples, he opened a grocery store in 1897; eight years later, it was licensed to sell pizza by New York State. An employee, Antonio Totonno Pero, began making pizza, which sold for five cents a pie. Many people, however, could not afford a whole pie and instead would offer what they could in return for a corresponding sized slice,[citation needed] which was wrapped in paper tied with string. In 1924, Totonno left Lombardi's to open his own pizzeria on Coney Island, called Totonno's.

The original pizzerias in New York used coal brick ovens and baked their pizza with the cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. By 2010, over 400 pizza restaurants existed in New York City, with hundreds more of varied cuisine also offering the dish.

New York-style pizza is traditionally hand-tossed, consisting in its basic form of a light layer of
New York-style pizza with various toppings
tomato sauce and dry, grated, full-fat mozzarella cheese; additional toppings are placed atop the cheese. Pies are typically around 18 inches in diameter, and commonly cut into 8 slices. These large wide slices are often eaten as fast food or a "street snack" while folded in half from the crust, as their flexibility sometimes makes them unwieldy to eat flat. Folding the slice also allows it to be eaten with one hand.

New York-style pizza gets its distinguishing crust from the high-gluten bread flour with which it is made. Minerals present in New York City's tap water supply are also credited with giving the dough in metro area pies their characteristic flavor. Some out-of-state pizza makers even transport the water cross-country for the sake of authenticity.

Typical condiments include dried oregano, dried basil, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried red chili pepper flakes.

New York-style pizza is most prevalent in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, but can be found throughout the Northeastern region and beyond. Outside this area, many pizzas described as "New York style," including those of major pizza chains such as Pizza Hut, generally do not fall within the variations commonly accepted as genuine in its native area.

The Kitchen is Closed! It’s Pizza from Domino’s!

Dinner Tonight: Domino’s Pizza

I had to fast from mid-night to 8:00 this morning. I had my 4 month check up at the Family Doctor - sugar, cholesterol and such. Hopefully all be well. After the Doctor visit I had to stop for gas and stopped by the ATM at the bank. Skipped Breakfast and waited till Lunch time to eat. After Lunch headed out to go see Dad. He wasn't feeling too good today, upset stomach. Back home, I really didn't feel like cooking today. Then Mom called ans wanted to know if I would order a Pizza for Dinner tonight! The Kitchen is Closed!

Pizza's  few more calories and carbs than what I normally like to have for dinner but it had been quite a while since I had one and Mom wanted one, so Pizza it is! We ordered a Domino’s Hand Tossed Medium Pizza with Cheese, Sauce, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Green Olives. As always the Pizza arrived on time, hot and delicious! For dessert later a Weight Watcher’s Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bar. And for the Kitchen, It reopens tomorrow!

The Kitchen is Closed! It’s a Free Pizza from Domino's!

Dinner Tonight: Domino’s Pizza

To start my day I toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin that I topped with Smucker's
Sugar Free Blackberry Jam. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Our neighbor had to get our morning papers for me this morning. The driveway had ice on it and I've learned my Hoveround doesn't do well on ice! It's one cold morning out there, 3 degrees and a wind chill of -7! It only warmed up to a high of 13 degrees, but the wind chill kept it around zero or below. I drove Mom over to where she gets her hair done in Fairfield and back home for the day. They said we have 1 more day of the bitter cold before a little warmer weather moves in, in the 40's. Just did a few things around the house and then settled in  for an afternoon of Football and Basketball. For Dinner tonight, the Kitchen is Closed! Its Domino's Pizza tonight!

I enrolled us in the Domino's pizza Rewards Program. Mom and Dad order from there quite often,
often enough we have enough points for a free Medium Pizza! A few more calories and carbs than what I normally like to have for dinner but it had been quite a while since I had one and it sounded good, and love the clean up afterward! We ordered a Domino’s Hand Tossed Medium Pizza with Cheese, Sauce, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Green Olives. We had to pay a bit extra for the extra items, but very little.  As always the Pizza arrived on time, hot and delicious! For dessert later a Weight Watcher's Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bar. And for the Kitchen, It reopens tomorrow!
