Hint #1 - When preserving fresh basil in oil only fresh leaves should be used and removed carefully from the stems. Place the leaves into a jar and cover them with extra virgin olive oil. Seal the jar well and refrigerate until ready to use.
Hint #2 - Basil will freeze well and can be used year round.
