The Queen City Sausage Festival is dedicated to the region’s rich history of sausage making and the enjoyment of grilling” states Mark Balasa, Queen City’s marketing manager.” “The festival is an opportunity to tell that story and to deepen our relationships with customers.” Queen City Sausage is a “craft” sausage maker which means that all recipes are authentic and only the finest ingredients are used including hand mixed spices. Elmer Hensler, founder and president, still employs old world sausage craftsmanship and real wood smoke flavor in the company’s sausage production. Queen City Sausage is the Official brat and mett of the Cincinnati Reds. The Queen City Sausage Festival will promote all of the many ways sausages can be enjoyed in most any recipe. Festival food vendors will each offer their very own specialty sausage dishes, using Queen City sausages, as well as festival favorites including potato pancakes and strudel. A special retail Sausage Shop will be on site offering the most popular sausages produced by the company. The Shop will also feature a unique craft sausage made especially for the festival and not available anywhere else. A daily Brat Eating Contest will feature 10 contestants, each competing for the title of Queen City Brat Champion. The challenge; Who can eat 10 brats in the least amount of time? Admission to the Queen City Sausage Festival is free. Continuous live entertainment and fun games for all ages. Rides for the children too.
