Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

To start the day I toasted a couple of Eggo Waffles and had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After Breakfast I went to the local Kroger up the road, for a few items I needed. Warmer this morning than it's been in a while, 47 degrees. But showers most of the day and into the mid 50's. Did a few chores around the house and then went up to spend the afternoon with Dad. Back home, for dinner tonight I prepared Spaghetti and Meatballs.

It seems like forever since I’ve made Spaghetti and Meatballs and it really sounded good for Dinner
tonight! To make it I’m using my favorite, Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti. Cooks up great and an excellent tasting Pasta. It’s 180 calories and 35 net carbs per serving. Then for my Meatballs I used Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs. The Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs are good size, meaty, and have a fantastic taste and their 190 calories and 5 net carbs for 3 Meatballs. For my Pasta Sauce I used Ragu Mushroom Sauce and topped with some Kroger Private Selection Shaved Parmesan Cheese.

To prepare the dish; I cooked the Spaghetti as to the package instructions. In a sauce pan I add my
Meatballs and Ragu Sauce, heated on medium low until heated through. In a large bowl I added the finished Spaghetti, the Sauce and Meatballs and mixed and served. Topped the Spaghetti with the Shaved Parmesan Cheese.

I also prepared some Baked Cheesy Bread. Another easy one, using Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread,
Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. Just Butter the Bread and add your Cheese on top. Then bake on 400 degrees until the Bread is toasted and Cheese is melted. For Dessert later a Weight Watcher's Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bars.

Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs w/ Baked French Bread

Dinner Tonight: Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs w/ Baked French Bread

For Breakfast this Saturday morning I prepared some Glier's Turkey Goetta, been too long since I've had Goetta. I also prepared some Simply Potato Shredded Hash Browns, toasted 2 slices of Healthy
Life Whole Grain Bread, and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Love a good Breakfast! Overnight we got some freezing rain but my about 5:00 this morning it started warming up and it was all rain for the rest of the day. You got to love this Ohio weather! The last two days snow and below zero with the wind chill. Today Thunderstorms, rain, and a high in the 50's! Then Sunday back to 25 degrees and snow flurries. Don't like the weather here in Ohio, stick around 10 minutes it will change! For Dinner tonight its Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs w/ Baked French Bread.

You just can’t go wrong with Spaghetti and Meatballs! And you can make it healthier by using Whole
Wheat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs. I used Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs along with Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs. I always use Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pasta. The Spaghetti is 180 calories and 35 net carbs, which isn’t bad for Pasta. The Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs are some of the best I’ve found, fantastic taste and their 190 calories and 6 carbs for 3 Meatballs. For my Pasta Sauce I used Ragu Mushroom Sauce and topped with some Kroger Private Selection Shaved Parmesan Cheese. I also baked a loaf of Pillsbury French Bread.

Topped the Spaghetti with the Shaved Parmesan Cheese and served it with the baked French Bread. For Dessert later a Breyer's 100 Calorie Chocolate Ice Cream Cup.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

I only had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast this morning, not much of an appetite this morning. After my Tea I went to Meijer for a few items I needed. A bit warmer today, 86 degrees with some humidity later in the afternoon. Took my car up to the local car wash and had it cleaned, much needed. Then stopped by the bank and got gas before coming home. Not a whole lot to do today so I caught up on some little jobs in and around the house. For dinner tonight I prepared Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Spaghetti

Here’s something to absorb: One serving of RONZONI HEALTHY HARVEST pasta has over 20% of your daily recommended fiber intake – but did you know that fiber is good for you in more ways than just digestion?

People with diets high in fiber have a lower risk for weight gain, obesity, development of insulin resistance and ronzonidiabetes. Fiber also prevents constipation, hemorrhoids and diverticulitis, but it also helps reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases like colon and breast cancer. Fiber may help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and total cholesterol, therefore reducing the risk of heart disease. It can also help lower blood sugar to better manage diabetes.

Dietary fiber is the edible part of plants, primarily carbohydrates that are resistant to digestion and absorption in the small intestine. Fiber may be digested by fermentation in the large intestine. By eating high fiber foods you feel fuller, eat less, with fewer absorbed calories.

Fiber comes in two basic forms – soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber is found in fruits, vegetables, seeds, brown rice, oats and barley. It prevents or reduces the absorption of certain substances into the bloodstream. Insoluble fiber is found mainly in whole grains and on the outside of seeds, fruits, legumes, and other foods. It is like a sponge that swells within the intestine to promote more efficient elimination and alleviate some digestive disorders.

Fiber is found only in plant foods and passes through the digestive tract without being completely broken down. Being indigestible, fiber provides no nutrients to the body, which is why for many years it was removed from processed foods like white bread. But, nutritionists have since discovered that fiber performs valuable functions precisely because it is not digested, and it is essential to good health.

Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese

Dinner Tonight: Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese

Another cold and windy morning, about 11 degrees. I had a bowl of Kashi 7 Grain Puffs Cereal for Breakfast. Did a load of laundry and some light house work. After Lunch I went out and let the car warm up a bit and I went and dropped off some Valentine Candy at my cousin's house for all Grand Kids. Back home not much going on today so I kicked back and caught up on some I had recorded. For dinner tonight it was comfort food, I prepared Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese.

Usually when making a Cincinnati Style 4 Way I’m using Skyline Chili or Hormel Turkey Chili w/ Beans as my Chili, which all make a delicious Cincinnati Style 4 Way. But when I have some 3 Bean Buffalo Chili I like using it to make a Cincinnati Style 4 Way. I had made the Crock Pot 3 Bean Buffalo Chili the day before and froze 1 container and kept enough out for tonight’s dinner! I got a bowl of it out and reheated it in a small sauce pan on medium heat. When heated it removed it from the heat and put a lid on the pan and set it aside.

For the Spaghetti I’ll be using my regular Pasta, the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Grain Spaghetti. The Spaghetti is 180 calories and 35 net carbs, which isn’t too bad for Pasta. While at Meijer the other day I picked a few boxes of different Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Pastas, one being Spaghetti. Meijer is the only store where I can find all the Healthy Harvest Pasta Products. Easy to prepare; Using a large sauce pan half way filled with water. Salted the Water and brought it to a boil and added the Spaghetti. Boiled it for 11 minutes; drained and served.

Now for my Cheese, I’m using Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar. To serve I used a bowl and made a bed of Spaghetti, topped it with the 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and topped everything with Sargento Cheese. I also added a few shakes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce to the Chili as it was being heated. Some mighty fine Chili Spaghetti! Some people like adding fine diced Onions also, which would make it a 5 Way. Then for a side, one of the most important parts, Oyster Crackers! Chili Spaghetti is always served with a bowl of Oyster Crackers. I used Skyline Chili Oyster Crackers with a side of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. To properly eat an Oyster Cracker you have to put 2 or 3 drops of Hot Sauce on it! It's a Cincinnati thing! I also had a slice of leftover Pillsbury Italian Loaf Bread that I had baked yesterday. At the end of the post I’ve left the 3 Bean Buffalo Chili Recipe. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Mousse.

Crock Pot 3 Bean Buffalo Chili
Ingredients:

2 lb. Wild Idea Ground Buffalo
2 Cans (6 oz.) Hunt’s Tomato Paste
1 Can (16 oz.) Bush’s Chili Beans (Red Beans)
1 Can (16 oz.) Bush’s chili Beans ( Kidney Beans)
1 Can (16 oz.) Bush’s Chili Beans (Great Northern Beans), drained and rinsed
1 Packet McCormick Chili Mix
1 Red Onion (medium), Chopped or Minced
1 Jalapeno Pepper, Unseeded and Chopped
4 Cloves Minced Garlic
1 Tbs Ground Cocoa Chili Blend (McCormick)
1/2 Tsp Ground Chipotle Chili Pepper (McCormick)
2 Tbs. Ground Roasted Cumin
2 Tsps Ground Cinnamon
1 Tbs of Cilantro Leaves
5 Dashes of Frank’s Hot Sauce or to taste.
1/2 Cup of Water
Shredded Cheese, I use Grated Dutch Gouda or Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Topping)
Oyster Crackers
Frank’s Hot Sauce or to taste.

Directions:
*Brown Buffalo in large saucepan on medium-high heat 10 min. or until no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Add all remaining spices and ingredients except 1 can of the tomato paste.
*ADD to slow cooker and add in the remaining 1 can of tomato paste and 1/2 cup of water.
*COVER with lid. Cook on HIGH 3 to 4 hours (or on LOW 5 to 6 hours).

*Serve in bowl or mug with cheese and the oyster crackers, A Tablespoon of fat-free sour cream, or serve with some home made cornbread.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

It's feeling like an Autumn Day out there today! I went out early this morning to get the Sunday
Papers and it about 49 degrees this morning. Beautiful day out, sunny and in the 60's. After Breakfast got the cart out and drove around the neighborhood a bit enjoying the beautiful day. Didn't stay out long today though, it's the first week of the NFL Season this afternoon! So it's my easy chair and remote for the afternoon! Love Football. For dinner tonight, Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I’m using Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti, my favorite Pasta. Cooks up great and

For my Pasta Sauce I used Ragu Super Chunky Mushroom and topped with some Kroger Private Selection Shaved Parmesan Cheese.

To prepare the dish; I cooked the Spaghetti as to the package instructions. In a sauce pan I added my
Meatballs and Ragu Sauce, heated on medium until heated through. In a large bowl I added the finished Spaghetti, the Sauce and Meatballs and mixed and served. Topped the Spaghetti with he Shaved Parmesan Cheese. I also baked a loaf of Pillsbury Rustic French Bread. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Had a delicious and healthy Breakfast to start my day, using Jennie - O Breakfast Turkey Sausage Links. Did my daily morning work out and on to some house chores. Also they started the outside repairs today, which are much needed. They are starting with our shed, replacing the corner wood and door. Also a fresh coat of paint. When that's completed it's on to the wooden deck and my wooden ramp. Does no good trying to save money, always something! For tonight's Dinner I prepared Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I'm using Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti, my favorite Pasta. I almost always use Jennie -O when using Turkey but no store in this area sells Jennie – O Turkey Meatballs. I always prepare extra Meatballs so I can make a Meatball Sub with them for my lunch or dinner the next day. For my Pasta Sauce I used a new one I came across at Meijer, Ragu Robusto Parmesan and Romano. I also had a slice of Klosterman Wheat Bread and an ice-cold Diet Dr. Pepper to drink. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

What a gorgeous morning outside! The colors of the sky and rising sun in the East was just incredible. After Breakfast, worked out and started a load of laundry. Then my Mom makes an announcement that sends the rest of the family into hiding, I'm going to get an early start on my Spring Cleaning today! And when she says Cleaning, she means Cleaning. Dad used to be able to get out and go somewhere and hide and now since all his health issues he's trapped, so he has to partake in the festivities! So let the fun begin here at our house. For dinner tonight it's Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I using Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti, my favorite Pasta. Cooks up great and an excellent tasting Pasta. It's 180 calories and 35 net carbs per serving. A local favorite and still one of the best Sauces I’ve had. I also had a slice of Klosterman Wheat Bread and an ice-cold Diet Dr. Pepper to drink. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese

Dinner Tonight: Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese

A little cooler out there this morning but still not too bad, about 36 degrees and cloudy. At home all day today. Mom went to Lunch with the Seniors at her Church, she needed to get out it's a full time job trying to take care of my Dad. I finished up a couple of loads of laundry for her, ran the vacum, dusted for her. I told her as she was leaving to stay out a while after her Lunch, go shopping or go visit her sister a while. She needs the break. For dinner tonight I prepared Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese.

Usually when making a Cincinnati Style 4 Way I'm using Skyline Chili or Hormel Turkey Chili w/ Beans as my Chili, which all make a delicious Cincinnati Style 4 Way. But when I have some  3 Bean Buffalo Chili! I use for the Cincinnati Style 4 Way. I had made the Crock Pot 3 Bean Buffalo Chili the day before and froze 2 containers and kept enough out for tonight's dinner!

I’ll be using my regular Pasta, the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Grain Spaghetti. The Spaghetti is 180 calories and 35 net carbs, which isn’t too bad for Pasta. But it’s becoming tough to find Ronzoni Products around here in the stores. Anyway for my Cheese I’m using Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar. Chili Spaghetti is always served with a bowl of Oyster Crackers, why who knows. I used Skyline Chili Oyster Crackers with a side of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. To properly eat an Oyster Cracker you have to put 2 or 3 drops of Hot Sauce on it! At the end of the post I’ve left the 3 Bean Buffalo Chili Recipe. For dessert later a Del Monte No Sugar Added Mango Chunk Cup.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Well Mom and Dad are finally much better, Mom still has a cough but feels much better. I had bought some boxes of Christmas Candy last week and today delivered them. She's a special person, she's helped me so much throughout the past 15 years that I have been going there. Have to go to Aldi sometime this week to get our Christmas Ham. If your looking for a good Ham you have to try the Appleton Farms Hams, it's the best Ham that our family has ever had! For dinner tonight I prepared Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I used Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti, my favorite Pasta. Cooks up great and an excellent tasting Pasta. Then for my Meatballs I used Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs. Here’s something to absorb: One serving of RONZONI HEALTHY HARVEST pasta has over 20% of your daily recommended fiber intake – but did you know that fiber is good for you in more ways than just digestion?

People with diets high in fiber have a lower risk for weight gain, obesity, development of insulin resistance and diabetes.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Today’s Menu: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Finally starting to feel better today! The soreness and cough have all but gone away and even woke up hungry! Made a Scrambled Egg, Turkey Sausage, Wheat Toast, and a hot cup of of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Now if I can just get Mom and dad healthy. Dad is still in the hospital, and Mom possibly should be. I would have to call in the SWAT to get her there though, very stubborn lady. She is some what better but still has an upset stomach. I did make Mom some soup for her lunch and soup and a Turkey Sandwich for dinner. For my dinner I prepared Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I used Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti, my favorite Pasta. Cooks up great and an excellent tasting Pasta. Then for my Meatballs I used Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs. The Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs are good size, meaty, and have a fantastic taste and their 190 calories and 5 net carbs for 3 Meatballs. I almost always use Jennie -O when using Turkey but no store in this area sells Jennie – O Turkey Meatballs.  I always prepare extra Meatballs so I can make a Meatball Subs with them. For my Pasta Sauce I used LaRosa’s Original Sauce. A local favorite and still one of the best Sauces I’ve had. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese

Dinner Tonight: Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese

Not quite as cold this morning, about 39 degrees. Beautiful day out today, sunny and about 58 degrees. Made a light Breakfast, worked out, and ran Mom to Kroger and the Bank. Came back home and finished up some patch work around our new sod that I laid along the driveway. It seems, so far to have solved our drainage problems. For dinner tonight it's Cincinnati Style 4 Way – Spaghetti, 3 Bean Buffalo Chili, and Cheese.

Last time I made this I used Hormel Turkey Chili w/ Beans as my Chili, which is a good Chili. But it's not my 3 Bean Buffalo Chili! Made in a Crock Pot with Wild Idea I had 1 container of it left in the freezer so I set it in the fridge to thaw overnight. I’ll be using my regular Pasta, the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Grain Spaghetti. The Spaghetti is 180 calories and 35 net carbs, which isn’t too bad for Pasta. But it's becoming tough to find Ronzoni Products around here in the stores. Kroger sells little or none of their items, Walmart it's hit or miss, Meijer is about the only one to depend on to find it. Anyway for my Cheese I'm using Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar. At the end of the post I've left the 3 Bean Buffalo Chili Recipe, which I need to be making a new batch of soon. For dessert later a bowl of Del Monte No sugar Added Peach Chunks.

Crock Pot 3 Bean Buffalo Chili

Ingredients:

2 lb. Ground Wild Idea Ground Buffalo 3-bean-buffalo-chili-001

1 Can (15 oz.) Great Northern Beans, rinsed
1/2 Cup of Water
1 Packet McCormick Chili Mix
1 White Onion (medium), Chopped or Minced
1 Jalapeno Pepper, Unseeded and Chopped
3 Cloves Minced Garlic
1 Tbs Ground Cocoa Chili Blend (McCormick)
1/2 Tsp Ground Chipotle Chili Pepper (McCormick)
1 Tbs. Ground Roasted Cumin
2 Tsps Ground Cinnamon
1 Tbs of Cilantro Leaves
5 Dashes of Frank’s Hot Sauce or to taste.
Shredded Cheese, I used Grated Dutch Gouda (Topping)
Oyster Crackers

*ADD to slow cooker and add in the remaining 1 can of tomato paste and 1/2 cup of water.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Today’s Menu: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Well my Dad is back in the hospital. It looks as though he'll be there a couple of days. He was having a hard time breathing again, they said that he had fluid built up around his heart and lungs. They have him on a couple of prescription drugs to clear it up before it goes to pneumonia. Hopefully he'll be home soon. Mom ate with Dad at the hospital so it was solo cooking for dinner. Tonight one of my favorites, Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I used Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Spaghetti, my favorite Pasta. Cooks up great and an excellent tasting Pasta. Then for my Meatballs I used Honeysuckle White Turkey Meatballs. For my Pasta Sauce I used LaRosa’s Original Sauce. A local favorite and still one of the best Sauces I’ve had. The night before I had prepared Meatballs in the Larosa Sauce to make a Meatball Sub, so I made extra so I just reheated that for my Meatballs and Sauce. For dessert/snack later a I bought a new Item, Hormel Snackers Chili and Cheese Dip. Just microwave for 1 minute and it's ready. So I'll try that and have some Tostito's Multi-Grain Scoops with it.

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Dinner Tonight: Spaghetti and Meatballs

Humid and hazy out today. Went and seen Dad this morning, looks as though he may come home around September 10th. Came home and repaired Mom's Sweeper for her. Then watched College Football for the afternoon, first weekend of Football! Love Football starting but that also means that the Summer is almost over! It went quick this year. Mom ate with Dad at the rehab center so it was solo cooking for dinner. Tonight one of my favorites, Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Cincinnati Style 4 Way - Spaghetti, Turkey Chili, Beans, and Cheese

Dinner Tonight: Cincinnati Style 4 Way - Spaghetti, Turkey Chili, Beans, and Cheese

Being from and living in the Cincinnati area all my life I've been around and prepared the local cuisine, and love it! Sausages, Goetta, and the Chili are just endless in varieties around here. And tonight I'm preparing one of my favorites, Cincinnati Style 4 Way - Spaghetti, Turkey Chili, Beans, and Cheese. For the Spaghetti I'll be using my regular Pasta that I use, the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Grain Spaghetti. The Spaghetti is 180 calories and 35 net carbs, which isn’t bad for Pasta.

I had wanted to use some of the Buffalo Chili that I prepare but as I searched the freezers I found out that I was all out of it, I will be preparing more of that soon. So I went with Hormel Turkey Chili with Beans instead. It's my favorite canned Chili hands down. It’s a nice thick Chili made with Turkey and seasoned just right with plenty of Beans. It's also a perfect Chili for making Chili and Cheese Nachos. Then for my Cheese I used Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar. To serve I used a bowl and made a bed of Spaghetti, topped it with the Turkey Chili with Beans, and topped everything with Sargento Cheese. I also added a few shakes of Frank's Red Hot Sauce to the Chili as it was being heated. Some mighty fine food! Some people like adding fine diced Onions also, which makes it a 5 Way. So the 4 Way - Spaghetti, Chili, Beans, and Cheese and there you have it! Wow I almost forgot one of the most important parts, Oyster Crackers! Chili Spaghetti is always served with a bowl of Oyster Crackers, why who knows. I used Skyline Chili Oyster Crackers with a side of Frank's Red Hot Sauce. To properly eat an Oyster Cracker you have to put 2 or 3 drops of Hot Sauce on it! For dessert later a Weight Watchers Snack Size Dutch Chocolate and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Sandwich.
