Today's Menu: Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

Well they got the weather right, about 34 degrees with a wind chill of 28. Not bad though, at least no SNOW Yet! Ran an errand for Mom  and back home and ran some new programs on my computer. For dinner tonight Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.








Cheese Coneys just sounded right for dinner tonight! Mom had an open package of Oscar Mayer Extra Lean Turkey Franks, so that's what I'm using. As most Dogs, it's easy to prepare when you boil them. Just get your water boiling in your choice of pans and add the Franks. Boil for about 5 minutes and serve. As the Franks were boiling I also heated up a can of Skyline Chili. I served the Turkey Franks on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun and topped it with French's Yellow Mustard, some of the Skyline Chili, and Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Served with a side of Skyline Chili Oyster Crackers and Frank's Hot Sauce. The Frank's is for the Oyster Crackers, sort of a Cincinnati way of eating the Oyster Crackers, just a drop or two on the Cracker will do! For dessert later a Del Monte No Sugar Added Peach Chunks Cup.

Skyline Chili

Directions:
Microwave: empty contents into microwave-safe container. Cover.Microwave on high power for at least 1 minute or until hot. Stove top:empty contents into sauce pan. Heat over medium heat until hot, stirringoccasionally.

Chili and Cheese Coneys!

Dinner Tonight: Chili and Cheese Coneys!

Only about 40 degrees this morning, Spring time? The high for the day wasn't much higher and there was a cold breeze blowing all day. But 70's and 80's coming the upcoming week. Ran Mom around for a few errands and home. For dinner tonight, nothing but comfort food! Tonight it's Chili and Cheese Coneys!









I used Oscar Mayer Extra Lean Turkey Franks. Just boiled them for 5 minutes and they were ready. A very lean Hot Dog, only 50 calories and 4 carbs per Hot Dog. Then for the Chili I used Hormel Turkey Chili with Beans. One of the best canned Chilis there is, in my opinion. It's a nice thick Chili and seasoned just right with plenty of Beans. Emptied the can into a small sauce pan and heated it up for about 10 minutes or so. I did add a few shakes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce to the Chili as it was heating up.

Served everything on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun. Topped the Dog with French’s Yellow Mustard, Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and then the Chili and they were ready to go! Nothing better than a couple of Cincinnati Style Chili and Cheese Coneys for dinner! For dessert later, I had baked some Pillsbury Nut Quick Bread. Instead of adding 2 Eggs to the batter I used Egg Beaters, 2 Eggs (Medium size) is 140 calories while 2 servings of Egg Beaters is only 50 calories. So I'll have a slice of the Nut Quick Bread topped with a scoop of Breyer's Carb Smart Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Welcome to the still frozen tundra of West Chester, Ohio! I'll be glad when this deep freeze passes, they say one more day of below zero and by Thursday a balmy 25 degrees, you have to start somewhere! I got my Mom's car repaired and now I think the weather has taken a toll on mine, it will be in the shop some time this week. For dinner a cold winter's day classic, Skyline Chili and Spaghetti - 3 Way w/ Chili and Cheese Coney! What better way to heat it up a bit.








I used Skyline 3 Way – Chili, Spaghetti. They sell it packaged for the microwave, a bit smaller size than what you get at a Skyline but just right for those still watching calories and carbs. It comes with Spaghetti topped with Skyline Chili. I added a few dashes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and Cheese to make it a 3 Way and used Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheese. The Chili Spaghetti is 270 calories and 20 carbs.

Then I also prepared an Oscar Mayer Extra Lean Turkey Franks, my new choice of Hot Dogs. Just boiled them for 5 minutes and they were ready. Opened a small can of Skyline Chili and heated it up, for topping for the Hot Dog. Served on a Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Hot Dog Bun and topped with Skyline Chili, French’s Yellow Mustard and Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar. For a dessert/snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Jolly Time Pop Corn.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! It's been an almost bitter cold day around here most of the day. This morning the wind chill had it around 9 degrees, far cry from our mid 50's just a or so ago. Ran some errands for Mom, who is almost at full strength again. Then spent most of the afternoon baking some Pumpkin Walnut and Banana Walnut Bread. Baked 12 mini loaves and delivered them to several neighbors. Love Christmas time! For dinner tonight it was a Skyline Chili inspired dinner. I prepared a Skyline 3 Way – Chili, Spaghetti, Cheese w/ Hot Dog with Cheese and Mustard.

It is one freezing cold day out there, maybe 20 degrees out. I guess we ended up with about 5, maybe 5 1/2 inches of snow. It is sunny out so that's helping to clear the streets a bit. More Winter weather on the way for tomorrow though. Warm and snug on the inside and for dinner a huge favorite of mine, Chili Dogs!

I used Oscar Mayer Extra Lean Turkey Franks, my new choice of Hot Dogs. Just boiled them for 5 minutes and they were ready. I had planned on using some of the 3 Bean Buffalo Chili but I had none in the freezer left, I'll be making a new batch this week to cure that problem! So instead I used Hormel Turkey Chili with Beans. Emptied the can into a small sauce pan and heated it up for about 10 minutes or so. I did add a few shakes of Frank's Red Hot Sauce to the Chili as it was heating up.







Served everything on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun. Topped the Dog with French's Yellow Mustard, Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and then the Chili and they were ready to go! Nothing better than a couple of Cincinnati Style Chili Dogs! For dessert later a Skinny Cow Truffle Ice Cream Bar.

Buffalo Chili Turkey Dogs

Dinner Tonight: Buffalo Chili Turkey Dogs

This morning was our first day in the 30's, 38 degrees, in quite sometime. It was 38 but it felt good out this morning, I love the Fall! Back into the 80's next week though. What better to have a crisp sunny day while watching a day of College Football than Cheese Coneys, Buffalo Chili Turkey Dogs.





I used the 3 Bean Buffalo Chili I had leftover from the other night for the Chili, I had a lot leftover so most of it went to the freezer. I then used Oscar Mayer Extra Lean Turkey Franks, my new choice of Hot Dogs. I warmed the Chili up and boiled my Turkey Franks, about 5 minutes in boiling water. I served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun, topped with French's Yellow Mustard, the Buffalo Chili, and Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar. Now that's a Chili Dog!! Great taste in every bite as the 5 ingredients all come together! To add a little crunch I had a half serving of Ruffle's Reduced Fat Potato Chips and an ice cold Diet Dr. Pepper. For dessert later I had a bowl of sliced up some fresh Peaches I had bought earlier in the week.
