Kitchen Hint of the Day!

Low Fat cooking.......

A Low Fat cooking tip - Stir-fry your vegetables in broth. Chicken, beef or vegetable broth give your vegetables a great flavor, and using broth instead of oil really cuts down on the fat.

Boneless Pork Loin Fillet w/ Mashed Potatoes, Cut Green Beans, and Whole Grain Bread

Dinner Tonight: Boneless Pork Loin Fillet w/ Mashed Potatoes, Cut Green Beans, and Baked Whole Grain Bread

For Breakfast I had one of my favorites, Skillet Potatoes and Ham for Breakfast. I used 1 package of
Simply Potatoes Steakhouse Seasoned Diced Potatoes and a package of Meijer Diced Ham to prepare it. Just cook the Potatoes according to the package instructions and with about 5 minutes of cooking time left add the Diced Ham. I topped it with a Sunnyside Up Fried Egg. Just love these skillet Meals!

Another Spring like morning to start the day, about 52 degrees this morning. Had rain overnight and
very foggy in places this morning. Had a high around 62 degrees, not bad at all for February in Ohio! After Breakfast I got the leaf blower out and cleaned the deck and driveway. Had a lot of leaves and debris built up through the last couple of months. Then after Lunch I headed out to go see Dad for a bit, he's been making good progress. Might be released soon to come home. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Boneless Pork Loin Fillet w/ Mashed Potatoes, Cut Green Beans, and Baked Whole Grain Bread.

Tried another one of the Swift Premium Dry Rubbed Whiskey Black Pepper Boneless Pork Loin
Fillets. I love using these Swift Premium Pork Products. So easy to prepare and all come out lean and moist with fantastic flavor! I purchased this one from Meijer. To prepare it; Preheat the oven to 350°F. Remove the Pork Loin from package and place in an uncovered roasting pan that is sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray. I then took some JB’s Fat Boy Haug Waush and rubbed some over top of the Roast, for added flavor. Cook approximately 35 minutes or until internal temperature on a meat thermometer reached 145°F in the thickest part of the Roast. Remove it from oven and let rest 3 minutes before slicing and serving. And as the other Swift Premium Products, one delicious Roast! The Roast was very moist and tender. The JB’s BBQ Sauce was just right for the added flavor.

I heated up some Bob Evan’s Mashed Potatoes. Just microwave for 6 minutes and serve. Just as good as homemade, if not better and easier to make!

 I heated up a can of Del Monte Reduced Sodium Cut Green Beans. I could have Beans every meal, love them! Then I also baked a loaf of La Brea Multi Grain Loaf Bread. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

Best Slow-Cooker Soups and Stews
Make a meal that feeds a crowd with these satisfying slow-cooker soup and stew recipes. These recipes feature the best flavor combinations that really meld together and fully evolve when cooked low and slow. The best part about these recipes is that once you prep, you're done! Let the slow-cooker do the work and you'll have dinner ready as soon as you get home in the evening. What could be simpler than that?

* Beef Marsala Stew
This is an ideal recipe for the slow cooker, where gentle, prolonged cooking turns tough beef into tender bites. Serve the stew over a mound of Fluffy Mashed Potatoes.....

* Slow Cooker Chicken, Bacon, and Potato Soup
This soup is perfect for ushering in fall: It's hearty enough for the beginning of soup season, yet brothy and veggie-packed so that it doesn't feel too heavy. Pair it with a slaw or kale side salad and crusty whole-grain bread for a light, satisfying dinner. This recipe is ideal for a weekend, when you can check on the slow cooker after just a few hours; though you won't be able to leave the soup unattended all day, this still offers the benefit of hands-free, fuss-free cooking. Either baby red, Yukon Gold, or fingerling potatoes will work well here, as they'll maintain their shape nicely during cooking.......

* Chicken and Cornbread Dumplings
Make a classic chicken and dumplings recipe even more Southern by topping the vegetable-and-chicken-packed stew with cornbread dumplings.....

* Slow-Cooker Recipe: Classic Beef Stew
Just like Mom used to make, our beef stew is packed with hearty chunks of meat and an array of vegetables. Be sure to have plenty of bread on hand to sop up the savory gravy.....

Bison Chopped Sirloin Steak w/ Oven Fries and Baked Whole Grain Loaf Bread

Dinner Tonight: Bison Chopped Sirloin Steak w/ Oven Fries and Baked Whole Grain Loaf Bread

For Breakfast this morning I prepared 2 Jennie - O Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links, Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns, toasted a slice of Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread, and made a cup of
Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Well yesterday morning I had went for my 4 month check up at the family doctor and he gave me a heads up on what Medicare might be doing, and it's not good! Forcing Flu Shots, full Eye Exams, and few other things that you must have done or face a penalty of some sort. He said doctors are fighting this, As I will be also!! I don't need anyone, especially the government, telling me how to take care of myself! He said hopefully President Trump is going to look at this and repel it, hope so I'm not happy at all over this. Anyway later in the day I went up and seen Dad at the rehab center. He's doing real good and there's a possibility he could be home earl next week! So for my Dinner tonight its a Bison Chopped Sirloin Steak w/ Oven Fries and Baked Whole Grain Loaf Bread.

I love this SayersBrook Bison Ranch – Bison Chopped Sirloin Steak! I had ordered some more packages of it along with some more of the SayersBrook Elk Burger Patties, another new favorite of mine, a while back and had them in the freezer. I got one of them out of the freezer and let it thaw overnight in the fridge.

I preheated the oven on 400 degrees. To prepare them I’ll need McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Peppercorn Medley, McCormick Crushed Rosemary, and McCormick Thyme Leaves (all seasoning to taste). I got the Cast Iron Skillet out to prepare these. I first sprayed it with a very light coat of Pam Cooking Spray and then added a tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Heated it on medium heat. When the pan was heated I added the Chopped Steaks. I cooked each side 4 minutes.Then finished it in the oven, at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. It cooked up beautifully, perfect medium rare! Had a nice little char on the outside and moist and juicy inside. These have an excellent taste to them and cook up beautifully, another very good item from SayersBrook Ranch! I topped the Chopped Steak with some A-1 Sauce Thick/Hardy.

For a side I prepared some Alexia Oven Fries with Olive Oil, Rosemary and Garlic. I think this is the
first time I tried these. I picked a couple of bags of these up at Jungle Jim's International Market on my last visit there. They are already seasoned with Olive Oil, Rosemary and Garlic. I also seasoned them with some Morton's Lite Salt. They baked up perfectly and tasted great, as all the Alexia Potato Products. I also baked a LaBrea Bakery Whole Grain Loaf Bread. For Dessert /Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop Popcorn.

SayersBrook Ranch Bison Chopped Sirloin Steak
If you like the flavor of the sirloin, love the Bison Burger but want to take it up a notch, then the Chopped Sirloin Steak is for you! 4 lbs (4 packages each with 2-8oz chopped sirloin steaks).
Great flavor of the sirloin but also extremely tender and juicy.

Alexia Oven Fries with Olive Oil, Rosemary and Garlic
The finest Pacific Northwest Russets are seasoned with an uncommon blend of rosemary, garlic and
olive oil to create this delicious twist on a classic.
