No Dinner Plan Tonight

Dinner Tonight Hormel Turkey Chili w/ Beans

I had a Dinner planned out but due to a Family Emergency I had to go with something quick and
easy. My Dad fell last night around 8:30 and we were at the Hospital until 2:00 this morning. He's doing fine and they sent him back home with us. The time I finally got to bed was around 4:00 this morning. So something quick and easy was Dinner tonight. I prepared a can of Hormel Turkey Chili w/Beans. Topped it with some Sargento Reduced Calorie Shredded Sharp Cheddar and a side of Oyster Crackers. See everyone tomorrow, take care!

Chili and Cheese Nachos

Dinner tonight: Chili and Cheese Nachos

Benn a very quiet day around the house and really the neighborhood. For breakfast I had a single egg scrambled egg, 2 Jennie - O Turkey Sausage Links, and 2 slices of toasted Klosterman Wheat Bread. Did my morning workout and went in and cleaned the kitchen this morning. After that did a load of laundry for Mom and cleaned up around the house, in and outside. A little too hot to get the cart out so I hopped in the car and went over to a friend of mine, he just recently got out of the hospital with gallstones (ouch). Back home and watched television for a while. For dinner tonight Chili and Cheese Nachos.

I didn't want anything real heavy so it was Nachos that sounded good! I used Tostios Multi Grain
Ready for the oven

Scoops for my Chips. I love these with Salsa or just as snack by their selves, they bake and hold their shape better than most chips. For my toppings I used 1 can of Mario Sliced Black Olives. Anyone that uses small cans of Sliced Black Olives know what a pain they can be opening sometimes. Not these, they come in a can with a pull tab About time! For my other toppings I sliced up some Green Olives, Mezzetta Deli Sliced Jalapeno Peppers, Hormel Turkey Chili with Beans, a few shakes (or more) of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, and Sargento Reduced Fat Mozzarella. Put all that together and it’s nothing but good!

To prepare I preheat the oven at 400 degrees and sprayed a glass baking dish with Pam and layer
everything in. I opened up 2 cans of the Hormel Chili with Beans and heated them up in a sauce pan, as it was heating I added a about 6 shakes of Frank’s Hot Sauce to it and mixed. After the Chili was ready I added 4 tablespoons of Chili to the baking dish, then I added my Scoops (Chips). I then added the Sliced Black Olives and Sliced Green Olives, the remainder of the Chili, Sliced Jalapeno Peppers (Love These), and then top everything the Cheese. Then just pop it in the oven 10 minutes or so until the Cheese had started to melt and everything heated. Nothing better on a cold Winter’s Day than a big plate of Chili Cheese Nachos! Also had an ice-cold Diet Dr. Pepper to drink. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt. Mom and Dad went out for inner but will have some Nachos later tonight for a snack.

Chili Dogs!

Dinner Tonight: Chili Dogs!

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood! Sunny and 70 degrees. Light Breakfast, workout, and off
to the Kroger up the road. Had to pick up a couple of items for dinner, tonight's and tomorrow. Back home and got the cart out of the shed and straightened up the shed and swept it out real good. Then spent the afternoon out on the cart enjoying the sunshine. Went fishing for a couple of hours at the neighborhood lake, caught a few small Blue Gill, but just enjoyed the relaxation of fishing. Got in the freezer last night and laid a package of Ballpark Smoked White Turkey Frank's in the fridge overnight to thaw. For dinner tonight Chili Dogs!

I used Ball Park White Smoked Turkey Franks that boiled. Just boiled in hot water for about 5 minutes and their done. Served them on a Kroger Lite Wheat Hot Dog Bun. I topped them with Hormel Turkey With Beans. Comes in a can just heat it up in a small sauce pan and it’s ready, added 3 or 4 shakes of Frank's Red Hot Sauce to it. I love using the Hormel Turkey With Beans when ever I can. It's the best canned Chili that I've found, thick and flavorful with excellent seasoning. I also topped the Franks with a bit of French’s Yellow Mustard and Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese. An easy prepared but delicious meal! For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Chili and Cheese Nachos

Dinner Tonight: Chili and Cheese Nachos

A whole lot cooler outside today, with a cold wind blowing. A lot of sunshine but only a of in the 40's. Had a family emergency late yesterday, Mom and Dad had went out to eat and came back home when Dad fell getting out of the car. He hit hid head pretty hard on the driveway. There was a whole lot of blood and he had a nasty gash on back of his head. We had to cal 911 and there were here in minutes and had to take him to a local hospital. They took scans and x-rays which all came back negative of any damage but he ended up getting 3 staples on his head to patch the gash on his head. He's back home and rested most of the day. For dinner tonight it seemed all of us wanted the same thing, Chili and Cheese Nachos!

I used Tostitos Multi Grain Scoops for my Chips. I love these with Salsa or just as snack by their selves, they bake and hold their shape better than most chips. Chili Dog Casserole

Dinner Tonight:  Chili Dog Casserole w/ Refried Beans and Tossed Salad

Wow, what a long night! Had a bad bout with those Phantom Pains all last night and into the early afternoon today. It started last night around 7:00 and as the night wore on the pain kept getting worse. I ended with maybe and hours worth of sleep. So most of my afternoon was catching up on some much needed sleep. Sure wish they would come up with a cure to battle Phantom Pains, but no proven cures out there. We had another day in the 40's but it gradually got colder as the day went on. For dinner tonight I tried a new recipe,  Chili Dog Casserole.

I came across the recipe from a Kraft Foods Recipe Email, 4-Ingredient Chili Dog Casserole. To prep it I'll need just 4 Ingredients; 1 can  (15 oz. each) Hormel Turkey Chili with Beans, 3 Ball Park Smoked White Turkey Franks, 3 Flour Tortillas (6 inch), 1/4 cup Sargento Reduced Calorie Shredded Sharp Cheddar. To prepare it couldn't be much easier. Place 1 Turkey Frank on each Tortilla; roll up. Place, seam sides down, over chili. Sprinkle with cheese; cover. Baked for about 25 min., the Chili and Franks were are heated through and cheese melted. This makes one delicious Casserole dish! Just like having a Cincinnati Style 3 Way Coney, only with a Tortilla instead of a Bun. A Keeper Recipe! The original Kraft Recipe and web link is at the end of the post. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

4-Ingredient Chili Dog Casserole

what you need
2 cans  (15 oz. each) chili with beans
5  OSCAR MAYER Wieners
5  corn tortillas (6 inch)
1/2 cup  KRAFT Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
make it
HEAT oven to 425ºF.

SPREAD chili onto bottom of 8-inch square baking dish.

PLACE 1 wiener on each tortilla; roll up. Place, seam sides down, over chili. Sprinkle with cheese; cover.

BAKE 25 min. or until wieners are heated through and cheese is melted.

Kraft kitchens tips

SERVING SUGGESTION Don't let the fun stop at the entree! Round out the meal with a fun salad bar. Set out a large bowl of torn mixed salad greens and small bowls filled with chopped fresh vegetables. Then let everyone pick their favorite salad toppers and make their own fun salad.
MAKE AHEAD This is a perfect make-ahead recipe. Throw this four-ingredient family pleaser together the night before, then refrigerate until ready to bake as directed.
NO BEANS PLEASE Prepare using chili without beans.
