Soup Special of the Day.....Slow Cooker Ham and Bean Soup

This week's Soup Special of the Day is a recipe for Slow Cooker Ham and Bean Soup. One easy Slow Cooker Ham and Bean Soup, so get the slow cooker out! Slow Cooker Ham and Bean Soup
Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package 15-bean soup mix
1 ham bone
3 cups cubed fully cooked ham
2 cups chicken broth (low sodium)
2 cups water
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
1 (15.5 ounce) can great Northern beans (low sodium), drained and rinsed
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 bay leaf

Directions
1 - Place 15-bean soup mix in a large bowl and cover with several inches of cool water; soak in refrigerator 8 hours to overnight. Drain and rinse.
2 - Place 15-bean soup mix, ham bone, cooked ham, chicken broth, water, onion, carrots, great Northern beans, garlic, black pepper, salt, and bay leaf in a slow cooker; stir to combine. Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.

Soup Special of the Day!........Ham Bone Soup

This week's Soup Special of the Day is - Ham Bone Soup. A perfect use of a leftover Ham Bone. Enjoy and Eat Healthy!

Ham Bone Soup

Ingredients
1 ham bone with some meat
1 onion, diced
1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes with juice
1 can (15 ounces) cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
3 potatoes, cubed
1 green bell pepper, seeded and cubed
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon crushed rosemary leaves
4 cups water
6 cubes chicken bouillon

Directions
1 - Place the ham bone, onion, tomatoes, white beans, potatoes, and green pepper, Italian seasoning, crushed rosemary into a 3 quart or larger slow cooker. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in water, and pour into the slow cooker.
2 - Cover, and cook on High until warm. Reduce heat to Low, and continue to cook for 5 to 6 hours.

Soup Special of the Day! - Bean Soup

This week's Soup Special of the Day is Bean Soup. An easy prepared Bean Soup recipe, make extra to freeze!


Bean Soup

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) package dried navy beans
7 cups water
1 ham bone
2 cups diced ham (I used a package of Meijer Diced Ham)
1/4 cup minced onion
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 bay leaves
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1/2 cup sliced celery (optional)


Directions
1 - Place rinsed beans into a large stock pot. Add water and bring to a boil. Boil gently for 2 minutes; remove from heat, cover and let stand for 1 hour.
2 - Add ham bone, cubed ham, onion, salt, pepper, cumin, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until beans are soft. Occasionally skim service of soup while it is cooking.
3 - Add carrots and celery, cook until tender. Remove ham bone, scrape any meat from bone and place back into soup and serve.
