When chopping Parsley ahead of time you'll find it quickly wilts. Solve this problem by getting out as much water from the Parsley that you can. This is easily accomplished by wringing it in a kitchen towel.

Kitchen Hint of the day

Corn should never be husked, that is prior to preparation. If using the microwave it should be put in the microwave for 4-5 minutes with the husks intact.  The results are fantastic! It makes some of the best corn we have ever had.  Plus no pots of water to boil and clean up afterward.

Kitchen Hint of the Day

Now here's one I've never heard of before!

Bake a double crusted pie with two strands of spaghetti sticking up in it to absorb any excess liquid. Let the top part of the spaghetti stick up a few inches. When the pie bakes, if there is any excess liquid inside of it, the liquid will climb up the spaghetti instead of pouring out the of the sides or the top.

Kitchen Hint of the Day

Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays. For example, if you open a bottle of wine, a can of tomato sauce or a bottle of pesto and only use a small amount, freeze them for later use. You can also cut small pieces of fruit and freeze them in the ice cubes for an added plus to mixed drinks.

Kitchen Tip of the day

Liquefy onions in a blender before adding to your tomato sauce so kids won’t see the onion and will eat them. You can use a blender, a food processor, or any chopper you prefer. You can slip those healthy but sometimes disliked vegetables in many dishes this way.

Kitchen Tip of the Day

Slide a strand of unwaxed dental floss--one end wrapped around the forefingers of each hand--under fresh cookies to unstick them from a cookie sheet. Floss also makes a clean cut through a cake for layering. No more crumbly edges!
